Bill Sprague joined GLC as Managing Director responsible for Capital Formation, both Private Capital Markets and Structured Finance. Prior to joining GLC, Bill was President and CEO of Madison Williams and Company and was responsible for the management of the firm’s investment banking, institutional sales and trading, and equity research efforts.

Bill has more than 30 years of experience in corporate finance, operations and private equity investing. He was Head of Investment Banking for Sanders Morris Harris Group and successfully built the M&A Group and Media & Communications Group at Smith Barney.

Bill received his B.A. from Williams College and his M.B.A. from Wharton School of Business.

Some things people may not know about Bill:

• First job was as a camp counselor. On a rainy day, told a campfire story about a ghost that lived in little boys’ closets. Three kids didn’t come back the next day and he was moved to the arts program. First lesson – know your audience.
• Attended Exeter, Williams and Wharton. After graduation did anyone really care? Not so much. It’s not about where you’ve been, but where you’re going.
• 5 years ago ran his one and only marathon in 4:10. As we get older, the races get a little harder, so we have to push just a little harder too.
